define the word "holiday".
according the the BBC English Dictionary,
a "holiday" is a period of time during which you are not working.
according the the Oxford Paperback Dictonary,
a "holiday" is an extended period of recreation,
esp. spent away form home,
break from work and school.
let's see...
according to Ting Yi's Dictionary of Confounded English,
a "holiday" is a period of time spent mugging,
esp. for up-coming exams
it is also an extended period of stress, bad appetite and short temper.
the word "holiday" has taken a whole new meaning huh?
actually, i dun think it should be used in the sch calendar.
wad's the point?
if i was the one planning the stupid calendar it'll look smth like this:
march "holiday" : time to study for block test!
june "holiday" : time to study for mid yr exams!
sep "holiday" : time to study for prelims!
nov "holiday" : time to study for a levels!
no wonder they planned hols before exams
its actually a hidden time for u to study
